With summer upon us, the warm weather has arrived and if your kids are anything like my little guy, he is usually asking for a cold and tasty treat after he comes in from playing outside.

This recipe for a Chocolate Freeze, made with Silk Almond Milk, takes seconds to make (it’s so easy!), but it’s cold and refreshing and it’s just the type of snack I feel good about giving my son. The best way to describe this drink is that it’s a cross between a slushy and a milk shake.

If you haven’t tried Silk’s Dark Chocolate Almond Milk, you’re missing out. It’s got that deep chocolate flavor that we all love, and it’s such a great dairy free option and perfect in this recipe.

To make this Chocolate Almond Milk Freeze you’ll need Silk Dark Chocolate Almond Milk which I found at my standard grocery store. Alternatively, you could use regular Silk Almond Milk and use a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder to give it that chocolatey delicious taste.

I prefer using the Dark Chocolate Almond Milk over the cocoa powder but it is totally up to you and what you have on hand in your house. Along with the almond milk you’ll want three heaping cups of ice cubes (about 30 ice cubes. This gives it the shlushy feel), 1 small banana, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and a pinch of cinnamon. Using a high speed blender, combine all of the ingredients until you’re left with slightly slushy, delicious Chocolate Almond Milk Freeze that you and the kids will love. Feel free to add any sweetener as you see fit such as a squeeze of honey. I made it and serve it as described below in the instructions.
