So, here’s the deal — I’ve got two new obsessions. And by obsessions, I mean, I just can’t get enough and it wouldn’t feel right if I kept these things to myself. I am going to do the right thing and share them with you.

#1 – This Low Carb Beanless Chili (I know, I know, chili is supposed to have beans. Even my auto-correct is not happy with beanless and has corrected the word to everything from beanies to beagles.) I’ll make my case for this beanless version in just a minute.

#2 – Getting groceries delivered right to my door by my local Jewel-Osco. Without having to get out of my comfy jammies. Without having to bundle up the 3 year old. Allllllll the groceries I need make this delicious beanless chili, right to my door. Obsessed.

This chili was born out of a need to make warm cozy fall food (because hi chilly weather!) and to try and please everyone in the house. My little guy is hit or miss when it comes to beans and I’ve been experimenting with a keto/low-carb lifestyle and trying to avoid beans, even though they are incredibly delicious. I knew chili would hit the spot, so I eliminated the beans, tweaked one of my favorite recipes for classic chili, and this comforting, family pleasin’ recipe came to life. It’s so delicious. And it can be made in an Instant Pot, slow cooker, or on the stovetop.

With this chilly, rainy weather comes my automatic attitude of “ugh! Do I really have to bundle up my little guy, and go out in the rain/cold/snow to get my grocery shopping done?”

The answer is no. There’s no need to put myself through that kind of misery because Jewel-Osco home delivery entered my life and became my latest obsession. Where are all of my Chicagoland people? Jewel has just launched their grocery delivery service in stores across the area and it is so. so. nice.

The first time I tried it, I really put it to the test and ordered my entire big order online to be delivered. All of the ingredients to make this yummy delicious Low Carb Chili? Check. All of my fresh sliced deli meats for weekday lunches? Check. Frozen veggies to go alongside dinners? Check. Milk, yogurt, fresh meats, you name it, I ordered it. My biggest hesitation was produce because I am picky when it comes to my fruits and vegetables but my hesitation was for naught because each apple, banana, pepper, and every other vegetable I ordered met or exceeded my expectations.

And now that I’ve got my first big shop under my belt, I can shop by history so I can easily order all of the weekly essentials that we go through. Is that convenient or what? If I’m in the mood to get out of the house but don’t necessarily want to go in to the store, they have a Drive Up & Go curbside option at certain stores. If delivery is your thing, you can choose a delivery window as narrow as 1-hour. The driver brings the groceries right to your door, and they’ll even bring them to your kitchen if you wish.

If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering how they keep frozen foods frozen and cold foods cold in a delivery truck. I was really impressed to discover that the Jewel-Osco delivery truck is set up with three distinctly different compartments. There’s one section for non-frozen/refrigerated items (think dry pasta, canned goods, etc), one section for frozen items and one section for chilled/refrigerated items.

Quite possibly the best part is that they offer same day delivery. If you wake up one morning and decide this Low-Carb Chili NEEDS to be made, just place your order in the morning and you can have your groceries in time for dinner. 7 days a week. The next best part about grocery delivery is that if you choose a 4-hour delivery window, there’s typically no delivery fee, it’s free!

So, here’s what you need to do. Decide you’re going to try this comforting chili. Because you need it in your life. And then, if you’re in the Chicagoland area, go to shop.jewelosco.com and begin shopping. If you spend $100 or more, you’ll get $25 off + free delivery on your first order (Promo Code: JEWELSWEEPS- valid until 2/28/18). Check it out here.

Pro tip: This Low Carb Beanless Chili is delicious for anyone, but is a great option for those following a low-carb diet, Paleo, or Whole 30. Enjoy!
