Toasted Cheese Ravioli Ingredients

Only a few ingredients are needed to make Toasted Cheese Ravioli:

  • Ravioli – start with 1 pound cheese ravioli – about 24 ravioli are in one pound.
  • Eggs – used to bind the bread crumbs to the ravioli
  • Breadcrumbs – Italian seasoned. If using plain breadcrumbs, add ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning to the bread crumbs
  • Parmesan Cheese – finely grated
  • Oil – for frying. I use canola oil or vegetable oil. You’ll need enough to add about 1 inch of oil to the bottom of your pan.

How to make Toasted Cheese Ravioli

  • Cook the ravioli – follow package directions
  • Lightly beat eggs – a shallow dish works best for this. I like to use cake pans.
  • Prepare breadcrumb mixture – in another shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs with parmesan cheese, garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  • Coat the ravioli – dip the ravioli in the eggs, then add to the breadcrumbs and toss to coat.
  • Heat oil – use a large, deep skillet and heat 1 inch of oil to 350 degrees.
  • Fry ravioli – add the coated ravioli to the oil, 3-4 at a time and cook until crispy and brown, about 4-5 minutes then transfer the fried / toasted ravioli to a paper-towel lined plate.
  • Garnish – sprinkle the toasted ravioli with additional freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Serve – I like to serve toasted ravioli with marinara and ranch dressing.

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ravioli amount will vary based upon the size – for me it was about 24 ravioli
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 ½ cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese – finely grated plus additional for garnish
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • oil enough to fill a pan with 1 inch of oil
  • Marinara sauce

Instructions

  • Cook ravioli until tender, according to package directions. Drain, and pat the ravioli dry with paper towels.

  • Pour bread crumbs into a shallow dish. Add in finely grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.
  • Coat each ravioli in egg, then bread crumbs.
  • Heat 1 inch of oil in a large deep skillet to about 350 degrees F.
  • When the oil is hot, add in ravioli, a few at a time so that you don’t overcrowd the pan. Allow the ravioli to cook until nicely browned and crisp, about five minutes.
  • Use tongs to carefully remove ravioli to a paper towel lined plate.
  • Sprinkle parmesan cheese cheese over the warm ravioli.
