Preheat air fryer to 380 degrees.
Prepare the patties: place 1 pound of meat in a bowl. Add in Worcestershire sauce and use your hands to incorporate it into the meat.
Divide the meat into 4 patties then flatten each patty until it's roughly 5 inches across. Add a dimple/crater to the middle of the burger to help prevent the meat from balling up.
Generously season: season each side of the burgers with salt and black pepper or other seasonings of your choice.
Add the patties to the air fryer basket making sure to evenly space them.
Air fry for 8-10 minutes or until cooked to your desired doneness. The internal temp of the burgers after 8-10 minutes will be roughly 145-150 degrees. Make sure to flip the burgers halfway through. If using cheese, add it during the last minute of cooking.
Remove burgers from the air fryer and toast the buns if you wish. To toast the buns, air fry them for 2-3 minutes at 380 degrees.
