Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
In a large bowl, combine pecans, maple syrup, cinnamon and salt.
*Optional - make cinnamon sugar for topping. Combine ¼ cup granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Set aside.
Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Add nuts to the pan and cook, stirring often. Continue stirring and cooking the nuts for about 6-8 minutes until the sauce has thickened and the nuts are shiny.
Transfer maple cinnamon pecans to the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkled with cinnamon sugar if desired and allow to cool completely.
Store in an airtight container.
