If I had to use one word to sum up my thoughts on these sweet and crunchy little maple cinnamon candied pecans, it’d be “irresistible.” The combination of maple syrup and cinnamon is the perfect duo to coat the pecans! And did I mention the smell? Your home will smell like cinnamon rolls after you whip up a batch of these candied pecans!

CANDIED NUTS INGREDIENTS

Only a few ingredients are needed to make these maple cinnamon nuts. For this recipe, we will be making it on the stovetop.

You will need:

  • 4 cups raw pecans (you can also use almonds)
  • โ…” cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt

To make these extra delicious, try sprinkling them with cinnamon sugar. To make cinnamon sugar, you will need:

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ยผ cup granulated sugar

Combine the cinnamon and sugar together for the perfect ratio of cinnamon and sugar.

HOW TO MAKE CANDIED NUTS

Candied nuts can be made in the oven or on the stovetop – this recipe outlines how to make them on the stove.

  1. In a large bowl, combine pecans, maple syrup, cinnamon and salt.
  2. Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
  4. Add nuts to the pan and cook, stirring often. Continue stirring and cooking the nuts for about 6-8 minutes until the sauce has thickened and the nuts are shiny.
  5. Transfer maple cinnamon pecans to the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkled with cinnamon sugar if desired and allow to cool completely.
  6. Store in an airtight container.

Instructions 

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.

  • *Optional – make cinnamon sugar for topping. Combine ยผ cup granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Add nuts to the pan and cook, stirring often. Continue stirring and cooking the nuts for about 6-8 minutes until the sauce has thickened and the nuts are shiny.
  • Transfer maple cinnamon pecans to the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkled with cinnamon sugar if desired and allow to cool completely.
  • Store in an airtight container.
