The Best Corn on the Cob
This recipe for the Best Corn on the Cob is one of the highlights of sweet summer! Fresh sweet corn is boiled to tender perfection then generously brushed with butter and sprinkled with salt and black pepper.

- 4-6 ears sweet corn on the cob
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- butter
- salt and black pepper
Purchase sweet corn - buy locally grown, fresh sweet corn if it is available to you.
Fill a large stock pot with water and bring to a boil.
Prepare the corn - cut off the stem of the corn, remove the husk by peeling it toward the bottom, then remove the silk. You can use a vegetable brush to help remove the silk.
Add 1 tablespoon granulated sugar to boiling water.
Boil the corn for 4-6 minutes, until corn is tender.
Remove the corn with tongs and all the corn on the cob to cool for a few minutes.
Slather the corn on the cob with butter and season with salt and black pepper.
