Breakfast Gravy

This country style breakfast gravy is homemade and the perfect comfort breakfast to go with buttery, flaky biscuits!

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 cups milk


  • Add sausage to a skillet and cook until brown. Drain most of the fat from the pan except for about a teaspoon.
  • Add butter and flour to the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste.
  • Add the milk and whisk until the gravy thickens. This should take a few minutes. Simmer for another minute or two.
  • Serve the gravy with buttermilk biscuits.
