This country style breakfast gravy is homemade and the perfect comfort breakfast to go with buttery, flaky biscuits!
- 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 3 1/2 cups milk
Add sausage to a skillet and cook until brown. Drain most of the fat from the pan except for about a teaspoon.
Add butter and flour to the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste.
Add the milk and whisk until the gravy thickens. This should take a few minutes. Simmer for another minute or two.
Serve the gravy with buttermilk biscuits.
