APPLE CIDER VINAIGRETTE DRESSING IS THE DRESSING YOU NEED FOR ALL OF YOUR FAVORITE FALL SALADS!

There’s nothing that I love more than a good vinaigrette dressing (the Maple Dijon Vinaigrette with this Thanksgiving Salad is delicious!), especially one that ties in perfectly with the fall season like this Apple Cider Vinaigrette dressing.

Most variations of this recipe only call for apple cider vinegar. That’s not enough apple for me, so I decided to make a version with real apple cider. It’s simple, flavorful, and elevates all of your favorite fall salads.

This dressing is apple-y, tangy, and so delicious!

Let’s go to the kitchen and make it!

WELCOME TO THE KITCHEN, HERE’S HOW TO MAKE APPLE CIDER VINAIGRETTE DRESSING:

This tangy, sweet dressing will quickly become a staple for dressing your salads. Aside from apple cider, the ingredients are pantry staples that you likely already have on hand.

Apple Cider Vinaigrette Dressing Ingredients:

Gather your ingredients. You will need:

  • apple cider
  • apple cider vinegar
  • olive oil
  • honey
  • shallot
  • garlic
  • dijon mustard
  • salt
  • fresh thyme
  • black pepper

Boil Apple Cider:

Begin by boiling apple cider until it is reduced down to between ½ cup and ⅓ cup. The purpose of this step is to concentrate the flavor. Apple cider reduction is the perfect base for this salad dressing (it can also be used to glaze meat like ham or chicken).

When the apple cider has reduced down to ½ cup, allow it to cool for about 20 minutes before adding the remaining ingredients.

Mix the Ingredients

After the apple cider reduction has cooled, add the cider to a small jar or bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Whisk it or shake it up, and adjust the seasoning and flavors to taste.

Adjusting the dressing involves balancing all of the flavors and textures.

  • Too tangy or acidic: add more oil
  • Not sweet enough: add a little more honey
  • Too oily: add a bit more vinegar
  • Too bland: add a little more salt and pepper

Serving Apple Cider Vinaigrette Dressing

  • On Salads: Use this quick and easy apple cider vinaigrette dressing on all of your favorite fall salads. I love to serve this over a bed of greens with sliced apples, dried cranberries, walnuts, sliced shallots and blue cheese crumbles.
  • As a marinade: for chicken or fish
  • On Roasted Vegetables: this is delicious on roasted broccoli!

Storage tips:

Homemade apple cider vinaigrette dressing can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Make sure to give it a good shake or whisk before serving so that all of the ingredients are well incorporated.

I like to serve my dressing in a ball jar with a lid, but you can use any container you prefer. This dressing, along with my Lemon Vinaigrette Dressing are two of my favorites!

Homemade Apple Cider Vinaigrette is a must-try recipe this fall. It’s fresh, flavorful, easy to make, and will brighten up your salads. If you try this recipe, please leave a comment or tag me on social media. I love to hear from you. Enjoy!
