Garlic Butter Recipe for Steak

The secret to what makes this recipe so delicious is the garlic butter recipe that adds so much flavor to the steak. To make garlic butter for steak, we combine melted butter, garlic, and fresh chopped parsley, and toss the cooked steak bites to coat them. The result is buttery, flavor-packed steak in each bite!

How to Make Steak and Potatoes

This garlic butter steak recipe can be made in your slow cooker or Instant pot. Here is a brief overview of how it comes together. For the full recipe and steps for each cooking method, see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  1. Start with the meat. Add it to your cooker followed by the beef stock. Then add in the Worcestershire sauce, Onion Soup Mix packet, and ranch dressing packet. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the potatoes. Then cook according to your chosen method according to the recipe card.
  3. Start the gravy. Whisk together the cornstarch and water in a small bowl. See the recipe card below for each cooking method’s way of making the gravy.
  4. Make the garlic butter. Add butter, garlic, and chopped fresh parsley to a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second increments until the butter has melted. Stir to combine.
  5. Remove the meat and toss with the butter mixture. Use the thickened broth as gravy for the potatoes if you wish and serve. Enjoy!

Buying Steak

This recipe is delicious with beef stew meat. Since both cooking methods involve slow cooking the steak, it becomes super tender and infused with flavor while holding up well. When I make my air fryer steak bites, I use sirloin.
