How to Make Garlic Parmesan Shrimp in the Oven
This Garlic Parmesan Shrimp recipe is made in the oven and ready in 8-10 minutes. If you haven’t made shrimp in the oven before, it couldn’t possibly be easier. The most important tip I can give you about cooking shrimp in the oven is this:
- Don’t overcook the shrimp – when the shrimp are pink and no longer transparent, they are fully cooked!
Here’s a brief overview of how to make this simple shrimp recipe in the oven:
- Preheat the oven and prepare a rimmed baking sheet by lining it with foil.
- Prepare the shrimp – in a bowl toss the shrimp with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, basil, parmesan cheese and lemon juice. Toss to coat.
- Arrange the shrimp on the prepared baking sheet – spread in an even layer.
- Bake – it takes about 8-10 minutes for shrimp to bake in the oven at 400 degrees.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
- Serve – we’ll discuss serving suggestions below.
Serving Garlic Parmesan Shrimp
Garlic Parmesan Shrimp made in the oven is a favorite shrimp recipe in our house because it doubles as an appetizer recipe, or as a main dish recipe.
Here are a few serving suggestions:
- Shrimp with roasted vegetables or stir fried vegetables and brown rice.
- Garlic Parmesan Shrimp and linguini – toss cooked linguini with butter then top with shrimp. Alternatively, toss the linguini with homemade simple creamy alfredo sauce!
- Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Salad – add the shrimp to a bed of greens and top with your favorite salad dressing.
Deveined shrimp means that the black, dark vein running along the shrimp has been removed. This is the shrimp’s digestive tract. It’s typically removed for visual or texture reasons, and not a health safety reason.
Medium shrimp will take about 8-10 minutes in a 400 degree Fahrenheit oven.
Deveined Shrimp vs. Not
Shrimp that has been deveined simply means that the black vein that runs alongside the back has been removed. This is the shrimp’s digestive tract and while it doesn’t have to be removed for food safety reasons, it is generally removed for visual and texture reasons.
Buy shrimp already deveined and peeled to avoid the hassle of having to do it yourself.
