Homemade Taco Seasoning
I love making my own spice blends. Not only can you customize exactly what is in it, making it as spicy as you want, you skip the extra preservatives and additives in store-bought packets. I love this recipe for homemade taco seasoning, it is the perfect blend of seasonings that is great in so many recipes!
With that being said, store-bought taco seasoning will also work in this recipe if that is what you prefer.

How to cut chicken breasts for fajitas
To cut chicken breasts for fajitas, follow these steps:
- Place chicken on a clean cutting board and pat dry.
- Trim any excess fat.
- Slice the chicken against the grain into thin strips.
- Chicken should be about ¼ inch thick.
Thinly cut chicken that has been sliced against the grain helps to break up muscle fibers which results in more tender chicken.
How to Serve Fajitas
Serve your fajitas in warm corn or flour tortillas. Serve alone or with whatever toppings you like! Options include shredded cheese, cilantro, diced onion, salsa, sour cream, and lime wedges.
Storing Leftovers
Store any leftover chicken fajitas and vegetables in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat only the portion you plan to eat in the microwave on half power until heated through.
